About Us

Middleton is a unique community. From the earliest days of this nation, it has bridged the manufacturing town of Andover to the major shipping port of Salem, Mass. Ever since, it has bridged the past to the future; business with residential living; community with philanthropy. A visitor to Middleton will experience its idyllic rural charm and yet have immediate access to their every need. The Middleton Board of Trade helps to steer the town in the direction consistent with the following mission:

Mission Statment

The primary goal of the Board of Trade (MBOT) is to foster business growth that enhances both the cultural and economic qualities of life in the Town of Middleton. Since 1953, the Board of Trade has played a very active role in developing Middleton and creating job opportunities.

MBOT Programs

B.E.S.T.B.E.T. – Building Excellent Schools Through Business Education And Teamwork. This MBOT program is based on the premise that better-educated students become better employees.

Scholarship Program
Each year the MBOT awards scholarships to a male and a female Middleton resident that graduates from both the Masconomet Regional High School and the North Shore Technical High School. Funds for the scholarships are raised through our annual golf tournament. One MASCO scholarship was recently named in memory of a longtime member, James K. Martin.

Business Development Committee
This long-standing committee of the MBOT endeavors to foster business growth and mentor incoming businesses to enhance the quality of life, both economic and cultural, in the Town of Middleton.

Holiday Collection
In coordination with the Friends of the Flint Public Library, members donate needed items for the Neighbors-in-Need program. At the same time, donations are collected for the Middleton Senior Council’s "January Thaw", a mid-winter celebration for Middleton senior citizens.

Holiday Lights & Decorations
The MBOT contributes to maintain the holiday wreaths and lighting decorations that are installed each year in the commercial areas of Town.

Pumpkin Festival
The MBOT co-produces and sponsors this classic fall event, including the haunted hayrides and many treats.

Chief Will’s Day
The MBOT is a major sponsor of Middleton’s Annual Family Festival.
